Having a good time with your family is one of the best moment to build up your good mood.
At December 24, I visited Solo for one day trip. Began from Jogjakarta and took for about 2 hours by car. When I arrived at there, current situation in Solo was so crowd at that time. It because during Christmas and New Year's Eve. As usual traffic all around the road. Beside that, there are so many vehicles that parked at the side of the road so yes u know how the additional effects is.
Spending a day in Solo i think its not enough to complete my satisfaction about this city, because there are so many places that attracted me to got there. So my whole day in Solo City actually just accompany my grand mother and mom to shopping. Here are some places that i visited in Solo City.
Pasar Gede
Is one of the most popular traditional market in Solo. Located in Sudirman Street, making this market easy to visit because it is near the city center. With the big size of the market, it provides so many foodstuff that you can buy for complimentary your homemade food. This market is also well-known as culinary tourism. We can get so many local food in here because there are so many food stalls that sell various type of local foods which of course the taste is good. So here i can mention some renowned local food from Solo such as Dawet Telasih, Tahok, Timlo Sastro, and Lenjongan.
If you go to Solo, dont forget to come to this market. Enjoy the foods until full tank, okay? But I remind you to pay the foods, indeed.
The main entrance before you go inside the market. As you can see the picture below, the main building is mix of Dutch and Javanese style which resembling a fort. I think it's really cool. Inside the market there are so many people and things. The people especially for the local is very welcomed to to visitor. The interaction between seller and buyer that makes it distinctive from supermarket.
A short strolling near the Pasar Gede, I found interesting building that is Kelenteng Tien Kok Sie. It is a place for Konghucu-ist worship. Based on my googling skill this building was built over 300 years ago and used as a cultural and social center.
